Bluecroft Love Of My Life – Pepper.

Bluecroft Love Of My LIfe was the registered name of my gorgeous Border Collie/Poodle mix, Pepper. She was the first dog I ever really worked with, and she was incredible. I rescued her from the dog pound when she was about 8 months old. She was a total wreck when I brought her home and was covered in cuts and bruises. She was terrified of many things and I dread to imagine what might have happened to her in her previous life.  She was caught by the dog warden straying on a nearby army base. By the state of her, she could have been living rough for a while – she was so thin and a pitiful sight.

I spent every waking minute working with Pepper and managed to turn her into a truly confident  and well adjusted Freestyle dog, who gave the purebred Border Collies a good run for their money in competition. We performed at Discover Dogs, Crufts and on BBC T.V. many times. She was the first dog to perform Flying Changes (One Tempi) and was much admired the world over.

Pepper started this amazing journey wuth me and I’m truly grateful for having had the pleasure of her company for 13 years, 4 months and 17 days. You taught me so much, Pepper, and we had so much fun together – life was never dull with you. Words can not express just how much I miss you.

Pepper lost her brief, but devastating battle with Splenic Hemangiosarcoma on August 23, 2007 – the four year anniversary of my Mother’s death. Life has not been the same since and she is constantly in my thoughts.

  1. To look at her, Pepper was a purebred Bearded Collie, rather than a mix of any sort. Not that it will alter anything for you. The love you shared is so moving.

Your words stunned me as they were the same words I used to describe MY own beloved Pepper. Here is OUR story:

The love that pours from you and Chandi and Pepper surely must be God opening the veil a bit so we can see what is coming.
    thank you

Thank you so much for showing us your dogs, your dances and yourself. If anyone could watch these videos and not smile, they are hopeless sourpusses. I shall save them to watch whenever I need a lift, and pass them along to all my dog-lover friends. You both are wonderful!
